Why Candle Matches are so whimsical?
There’s something so whimsical about striking a candle match to light a candle, the feel, the sound, smell and action. I have always enjoyed, so much more satisfying and relaxing they are, compared to using a lighter.
I adore the smell of a match, it reminds me of sitting by a fire, and the action of lighting a candle begins to ease my mind. They are so much easier to use than lighters and avoids burning your fingers! They are very nostalgic, adding to your ritual each evening as the sun starts to set, bringing back lovely fond memories of pastimes shared with loved ones.
As a candle maker, I wanted to create a decorative jar to store long tall matches in, which is why we created our ‘Strike a Light’ elegant jar, designed to keep all your matches safely in the jar, protecting them from moisture. The match strike pad is located on the back, for ease of use, & they are lovely to keep near your candle, or sat on the sideboard.
Having a candle and matches together creates an inviting atmosphere, making it easy to create that comforting glow without the hassle of searching for a lighter. This pairing not only enhances the aesthetic of a room but also encourages the practice of mindfulness, allowing us to pause and appreciate the simple joy of illuminating our surroundings. The jar can be reused forever, just replacement of the striker pad once a year, which we will include free with any further purchase from us in the future. The label is professionally printed and will last for many years. To refill, all you need to do is purchase long tall matches, which can be purchased through us or from your local shop.
